Harm

Is either physical or psychological.  It can be demoralizing or medical.  We have to wonder why people enjoy harming others.  Why wouldn't we all just want to live in peace?  There are really only 2 reasons; Greed or Unforgiveness.

People take from us or we take from others; that produces greed!  Others have what we want or think we need,  so we break the laws of the land or the law's of God.

We can't forgive others and others can't forgive us; that produces revenge and anger!  We do our best to harm others for their acts against us, so we break the laws of the land or the law's of God.

The Bible says in Roman's 13:10  "Love does no harm to a neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law."

It also states that the leaders & governments are put in place by God, so if we break the law's of the land then we are breaking the laws of God!   In the end that will really harm us.

Patience

One of the hardest things in the world to control.  When we see opportunity, given a gift of our dreams, or excitement to be with some one or thing!  Kind of turns us into a "bull inside a china shop".  The harder we try, the further it gets away.

That goes with healing too!  We can realize all our mistakes and take steps to correct them (which is awesome) but others in those situations are still ultimately in control, if we let them.  If they accept our apology all is well, but if they grudge then they can lead you down a path of torment.

When we accept Jesus Christ and His teachings into our heart none of that matters any longer as long as we stay with Christ's teachings.  God needs us to be in places where He can work with others in need, just as we were.

Prov 16:7  When the Lord takes pleasure in anyone’s way, he causes their enemies to make peace with them.

Give God time to soften those hearts, and stop taking unforgiven blame from others personally!!  It's really between them and God, not you!!

Moment

It only takes a moment to make a mistake.  Emotional, addictive, or compulsive moments in our life have the power to destroy people or our self, but it also has the power to build people up.  When we stop and think before we act or speak out, every time we say no to an addictive habit, and every time we analyze the reasons for the compulsive behaviour, we win.  The other people around us also win by seeing that they matter to us because we chose to curb our weakness for them.

Ephesians 4:32 "Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you."

It might seem trivial to us, but to others its an act of compassion, that shows genuine spirit in us. Compassion is not something the world gives easily, and we are suspicious to receive it for fear of manipulation, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't try.

What can go wrong if all we do is emulate Christ, or should I say lets see what goes right when we try?

Perspective

Is your glass half full or half empty?  Life's situations are much the same.  Are you half way to Heaven, or half way to hell?  Or do you care?

Sometimes we see our life as how bad we are and how much better we could be.  This is fine as long as we don't beat ourself up in the process.  You are in your place in life because God put you there for reasons unknown to you.  Being hard on yourself only leads to depressive thoughts and is an open invitation to addictive and compulsive behaviours.  If we can't trust anyone, then we have to trust God because we will fail miserably on our own..

Psalm 143:7-8  "Answer me quickly, Lord; my spirit fails. Do not hide your face from me or I will be like those who go down to the pit. Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I entrust my life."

Putting your complete trust in Jesus Christ allows you to know that somebody has your back, and as long as you stay true to God and not blame Him for negative things in your life, then He will guide your steps and keep you from harm.

Deceived

When we are deceived we feel a great deal of disrespect.  It leaves us with a shock and dismay like we don't matter, as our importance is diminished.  It's hard to take it lightly if we have a pride that is bigger than normal.  Shrugging something off like that is beyond our ability at the time.  It grants us a false sense of entitlement to hate and get even.

Titus 3:3  "At one time we too were foolish, disobedient, deceived and enslaved by all kinds of passions and pleasures. We lived in malice and envy, being hated and hating one another."

Revenge or mistrust is fueled by our inability to approach people so it is much easier to blame someone than to actually talk to them.  It's much easier to gossip details than to help someone who we feel has offended us, after all they are the one who started it.  The other option is to talk to them openly without malice!

Whether disobedience or mistake, an act of (what we feel) as aggression towards us is only as big as we make it.

The End

Ever reached the end of your rope, where everything in life has gone wrong, turned against you, or appears lost.  When people have nothing good to say about you or they cast you in a light that doesn't describe you in the least as to who you really are?  You can't understand it and try your best to live life according to God's word, but all these things happen.

Psalm 34:18  The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.

Jesus tells us in the Bible that these things will happen when we believe in Him.  He says, "the world will hate you because of me".   So when we rely on God to lead us, then we are not dependent on a self-serving attitude.  Apparently, the world hates that too!

Peaceful

When life is wild with hurt, destruction, & calamity, there is a peace in the midst of it, if you choose it!

Ever wonder why some people can calmly sail through life, through the worst of storms, with the greatest of setbacks, and still remain calm in the midst of it?  You witness them in horrific situations and you say to yourself; "If that were me I wouldn't be able to cope".  They appear stronger than us.

Romans 5:3-4  "Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope."

When you accept this peace, all hell can be breaking loose and you see it with different eyes.  You see child's play in the actions taken against you and sympathy for those who harmed you accidentally.  But the greatest gift given you is the ability to forgive those people unconditionally.  Also to assist those that feel they need justice and help them achieve it, not do it for them.

Who would have thought that all the sting in your problems could be wiped away by honestly and tearfully saying "Jesus, I accept you into my heart".
