Imagine that you are in a foreign land and don't know anyone there, as well, they all speak a different language than you. What would you do to fit in? We all try to put on our best front, the best "ME" I can create. No matter what you do, these people go about their business and entertainment being rather oblivious to you. It is as simple as you not knowing them and them not knowing you. That's all!!
Don't we live life like that in the world we grew up in? How many people truely know who you really are, or people you truely know? Deep personal relationships as opposed to the surface friendships we have. I'm not talking sexual relationships, but rather true friendships, with bodily desires put aside. It's something most of us are terrified to do, especially if we either of us have baggage we are carrying around. This is the biggest blockage to true friendships.
Self-help groups like Life's Healing Choices & Celebrate Recovery, teach us how to cast those barriers aside and to work on the real "ME" and to accept the real "YOU".
