Living Friendship

Being told that you're doing wrong can seem hurtful.  But look at it this way; would you rather have a friend tell you face to face that you screwed up?  Or... have an enemy talk about you behind your back?  There's an awful lot of people who say they are your friend, but have ulterior motives or they're not very brave.

There's something to be said for a courageous friend who can openly talk to you.  They obviously have your best interests at heart.  They dispel rumors about you by asking you about them.  There's not many of those people around is there?  So when you find one, treat them with the respect that they showed you.

Prov 27:5 An open rebuke is better than hidden love!

Self-Help groups like Celebrate Recovery & Life's Healing Choices teach us to look at the person and discuss their sins with them, not talk about them.
