The words of an addict: "For some reason I love what I hate and I become what I fear. I loath the very thing that excites me, yet I continue".
In man's eyes it's called an addiction, but in God's eyes it's His sorrow. You just don't realize the damaging effects to ourselves and others when we are blind to addictive states. It can be the abuse of control, people, situations, and emotions. These abuses lead to uncontrolled use of habits and substances.
It's really that simple but we make it infinitly complex. We don't see the simple fix because we don't believe in it. We expect healing to be a mountainous affair, but to God its a snap of His fingers....but....can we believe that?
Self-help groups like Celebrate Recovery & Life's Healing Choices teach us that if we don't believe God will heal us then His power given to us won't work!!
