He Said She Said

Why do we put so much emphasis on conversations like this?  We hear information about some one and we just have to repeat it.  Most of the time it is just making conversation, but why do we feel we need to make that conversation in the first place?  Either feelings of importance are the focus or we are uncomfortable with silence.  Either way we are simply uncomfortable with ourself.  We need to put on a friendly face, or we need people to look at us with awe.
.
There's another side to this as well!  If someone says something innocent about a person, we can quickly run to the other person and report it to them in an honest or dishonest fashion.  This way we can win friends by ratting them out and gaining acceptance.  We just can't accept ourselves without the acceptance of another.

Self Help groups like Celebrate Recovery & Life's Healing Choices help us to find comfort in ourself so we don't need to speak about meaningless topics.
