Relationships

Requires a solid understanding of whether they are acquaintances, friends, comrades, intimate, or sexual.  Most people grow up with a tainted view of each of these because of other people's baggage.  A blurry knowledge of these creates a free-for-all when it comes to boundaries or lack there of.  It's when we give our bodies away in an attempt to get people to like us.  It's when we don't think of other peoples feelings that we just take from them when we can get it, because we feel we are entitled.  It's when we are labelled because of our simple approach to what love really is, because we just don't know.  It's the cold approach that we show others when we don't need them anymore.  It's the abandoned feeling we have because they found someone better.   It's the way we try to dodge people because we don't have the courage to face them after a breakup.  Most people we know are only acquaintances, some are friends, fewer are comrades, much less are intimate, and only one should be sexual.

Self-help groups like Celebrate Recovery & Life's Healing Choices help us to differentiate what each group is and more importantly, how to categorize who the people are in our lives.  Being in the dark about what relationships are is the most frightening thing when they go wrong, but the Bible can help us to figure them out.
