Forebearance

Ignorance is the cause of many peoples downfall.  Temptations come and they fall for it not knowing what can happen if they play along with that temptation.  Then when things go awry, they fall victim to a poor me attitude.  Most of the time it's not intentional, it's because they don't see a way out of their dilemma.  This is a prime example of how addictive behaviours start, you start using drugs, sex, alcohol, bullying, theft, bulimia, and the list goes on, to try to numb the pain of hopelessness because of your plight.

But the Bible is clear in the description of trouble and how to avoid it and get out of it.

1 Corinthians 10:13  No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.

I guess the biggest learning curve to staying out of situations that drive you to compulsive and addictive behaviours would be to avoid the temptation all together.  It's called forbearance!

Why not start some new good clean habits today?
