Helping People Hurt Us

There are 2 ways of taking that heading;

1/ People who help us, can lead us astray if their motives are shadey, if their belief system is askew, or they are blind to the truth.  Our part in that is our ignorance to what is right in the eyes of God.

2/ We can also help people hurt us by continually seeking the wrong people to find help in!  Our addictive behaviors can lead us to people who help us support our own bad habits.  They are helping you satisfy what your carnal thinking desires.  In their own twisted way, they get a false sense of accomplishment by helping you with your addictive behavior. So in reality, we are helping them support their addictive behavior.

"The truth is, everyone is going to hurt you. You just have to find the ones worth suffering for." - Bob Marley

According to God everyone is worth suffering for, but we need a clear understanding of what constitutes what a healthy relationship is. Keep yourself safe first! is the motive in that.  Then you can successfully help others and in the process help yourself, in the eyes of God.

Okay, I guess this is where I'll try leaving a comment. Speaking of being alone... before I have been exploring Christianity and accepted Jesus as my Savior I never could be alone. Always had to go out whether I was with friends or not. Not I find I am able to stay away from all the action and enjoy time alone. ~J
