Realization

There's a point in a persons life when you say enough to bad behaviour and poor choices.  When that chronic hangup, habit or addiction isn't as important as the life you want to live.   The process can be long & arduous, but the benefits far outweigh the momentary pleasure-turned-problem way of life.

Job 34:31-32 “Suppose someone says to God, ‘I am guilty but will offend no more.  32 Teach me what I cannot see; if I have done wrong, I will not do so again.’

There's a finality in those words that gives a person comfort, knowing that you are choosing the new way instead of the old way.  Growth instead of a deprived spirit.  Richness instead of loss.  If others can't share that joy that you feel, it's because they don't know the depth you've been to.  That's where a testimony comes in to seal the deal.

Besides they may be jealous of your transparency regarding your problems, something they can't do with their own hangups. So continue to be a leader in everything you do & it will all work out!!

Encouragement

Most of us don't receive that, some have never experienced it, and a multitude believe there is an ulterior motive behind it when we hear it.

There are 2 kinds; genuine & false encouragement.  Tricks, lies, criticism, pride, revenge, and gaining the upper hand are usually the motives behind false encouragement.  But not everyone is like that!  There is a group in society that live according to the Bible's teachings and encourage those who are having a tough time with life's demands.  Getting those to believe that someone actually cares about them is another thing.  We usually don't believe it because we are frequently stung by it.  This creates feelings of hopelessness, an entry point for an addiction.

Hebrews 3:13 "But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called “Today,” so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness".

False encouragement is just deceit and the basis of greed.  Genuine encouragement is the basis of giving with nothing expected in return.

Quarrels

Conflict is costly!  Sun Tzu, a 4th century B.C. warrior turned philosopher could not understand why people fight.  He tells us to "avoid conflict even if it creates problems for you".

Today's world sets us up for constant conflict, over busy, fast paced lives, stretch us to the point of breaking.  But the first thing to break most times is our faith that God is in control. All that does is open us up to more things to draw us away from God.  We can become bitter and resentful, and feel we need to defend our self at all costs.  After all, who else will?  We separate and turn to things that control us, not the other way around.  We become more angry.  Is it any wonder why people stop going to church?

1 Timothy 2:24 And the Lord’s servant must not be quarrelsome but must be kind to everyone, able to teach, not resentful.

Don't read this wrong, church will not save you, but rather your understanding that you can't do it all on your own, will!!  Releasing all these things to Jesus is the only thing that will allow your mind to truly find rest.  That's the reason you should go to church, to find the peace so you can choose to not quarrel.  Besides, Sun Tzu says that problems are just opportunities.

False Religion

When we don't know about religious doctrines and groups that are presented to us.  If we don't study religions to find the truth and not just settle for the first group that comes along, then we are opening ourselves  up to blindly following something that may be our demise in the end.  Countless millions have done that before us and fell victim to dictators, lust, greed, and dissension.  The Bible tells us to study the Word of God and to not stop.  Religion of today is changing into what we "think and like", and paying no attention to accepting Jesus as our Savior. This opens us up to worshiping the body, plants, stars, people, objects, money, and psychological belief systems.

Colossians 2:23 Such regulations indeed have an appearance of wisdom, with their self-imposed worship, their false humility and their harsh treatment of the body, but they lack any value in restraining sensual indulgence.

Sensuality has the largest group of followers today, but what people don't understand is that if you don't forget about the world's trappings right now and instead get to know Jesus today, then how will He recognize you when He returns to collect all those who believe in Him?  That's really the only reason Jesus is returning!

Oppression

Sometimes we feel oppressed from many angles. It feels that the world is against us, that people are ganging up on us and we are trying our best to be good and respectable.  Might even feel as if God is responsible for all this, and we start blaming Him.  When times get tough, its easy to give up and fall back into the way things were, the easy way out.

1 Peter 3:17 "For it is better, if it is God’s will, to suffer for doing good than for doing evil".

Viewing all this trouble may seem like the journey isn't worth the work.  It's like a savings account, the more you resist, the better it will be for you in the long run.  But make sure you are not living with the mindset that you deserve any of this.  The closer we get to God, the more the evil one hates it!  Be very, very happy then for every instance that oppression happens.

Lol cool!!

Promises

Uttering words as a promise to others when we need something at the time, can be a trap that we set for our self down the road.  Making promises at the time can seem a simple task, but it's usually only at the time you make the promise.  Fulfilling that promise later on can turn into a magnanimous project.  All because we couldn't say a simple "yes or no" puts us in a sometimes very precarious position.

James 5:17 "Above all, my brothers and sisters, do not swear—not by heaven or by earth or by anything else. All you need to say is a simple “Yes” or “No.” Otherwise you will be condemned".

Compulsive and addictive behaviors only worsen situations, because the only focus is on the prize at the time and no regard given to paying back that promise.  The promise made is usually forgotten and becomes a big surprise down the road when we are reminded of our responsibility.

It really only boils down to us being honest with our self and others at the time, then no false promises are made or forgotten.  If you're unsure about paying back after making the promise, then you should avoid that trap to begin with.

Two Kinds of Wisdom

We each like to think we are wise, but our actions label us whether we like it or not.  How we speak, react, and especially the next step we take in the midst of trouble.  Some are relaxed and content with their life state and can easily handle the ups and downs of life.  Others carry deep envy, unresolved strife, chaotic perspectives, and cannot forgive.

The second kind of wisdom says that no matter what life has for us, we are content with the outcome, because we give it all to Jesus Christ for Him to sort out for us.  Praise God for the blessings, and ask Him for peace to deal with the not-so-desirable aspects.  More importantly, what can we learn from this?
James 3:17 But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere.

Focusing on all those positives doesn't give you much time to deal with the negatives, because if you give them to Jesus, then there's not too much to worry about.
